I am writing you to let you know our community concerns have been put in front of the CITY COUNCIL Candidates running for Harlem’s District ( 9 ) – Our District.
What were the questions?
|What specific legislation would you propose to support the HNBA Petition calling for a moratorium on new or expansions of Homeless, Drug, or Transitional Living programs in East Harlem?|
|What specific legislation would you propose to push fair distribution of Wards Island’s Homeless & Drug Addicted, & Transitional Living population to other boroughs (Not all seeking services after being dropped off on 125th St. in East Harlem)?|
|What specific legislation would you propose to pressure the MTA to move the M35 bus stop (drop-off of Ward’s Island’s Homeless) to an alternative location?|
|What specific legislation would you propose to pressure the NYPD to enforce loitering laws in the area (primarily enacted by Homeless, Drug Service users, or Transitional Living program population in East Harlem)?|
|What specific legislation would you propose to address the dramatic increase of rat infestation in East Harlem?|
|What specific legislation would you propose to make 125th St. & Lexington Ave. family friendly, clean, and safe?|
|What specific legislation would you propose to pressure to development/Construction firms & service providers to employ residents for all services involved in the construction & rezoning of East Harlem ( per the East Harlem Neighborhood Study by the DCP )?|
